                <text>Esta obra está integrada por siete artículos en los que se privilegia la etnografía como método y contenido. En medio de una región asolada por políticas de carácter extractivista, los textos nos dejan ver que la tradición se erige como nodo de resistencia que rearticula el ámbito comunitario entre los teenek de San Luis Potosí. A lo largo del libro se muestra cómo los curanderos y otros especialistas rituales siguen siendo sujetos con una amplia injerencia entre las comunidades; su saber influye en la preservación de conocimientos fundamentales acerca del mundo. Observamos que la música y la danza son indispensables para el funcionamiento de la ritualidad y del amplio espectro de relaciones sociales. De la misma manera, se ponen en discusión los cambios que han experimentado los bordados teenek y sus técnicas tras el fenómeno del marketing y la producción en serie. Con las transformaciones que responden a los influjos de la modernidad también se aprecia una constante e inacabada redefinición sobre lo que significa ser teenek, ahora en contextos de migración urbana. El aporte fundamental consiste en proporcionar al lector descripciones sustanciosas, generadas a partir del trabajo de campo realizado en comunidades con población teenek, recuperando datos de larga duración que se contrastan y comparan con los obtenidos de manera reciente.</text>

                <text>Las páginas que a continuación se presentan son fruto de investigaciones sobre el sueño y su uso en comunidades campesinas e indígenas en el territorio mexicano, con la intención de ahondar en su patrimonio onírico. Parten de la premisa de que el estado onírico es un lugar y un espacio donde algunos especialistas rituales de México aprenden su oficio, para construir e incidir en los diversos universos donde se encuentra lo terrenal y lo espiritual, pues muchos de estos personajes argumentan la existencia de múltiples cosmos, los cuales funcionan de manera análoga al mundo material.&#13;
La intención de esta obra es generar un diálogo entre la epistemología occidental-cientificista y el saber indígena local, este último aprendido de manera empírica mediante la narrativa de experiencias, mitos y rituales. Desde esta perspectiva, se generan nuevos temas de investigación que no responden a la pregunta de cómo se llega a ser un especialista, sino cuáles y de qué formas se conoce lo otro, la alteridad que permite ser un mediador entre los vivos, los muertos y los ancestros.</text>

En alcance de esta, el segundo volumen amplía y profundiza los saberes alrededor de los chiles, del mito a la genética, des­de la dispersión de las semillas hasta los usos culinarios en recetas milenarias, en la cocina familiar o en restaurantes, y los usos alimenticios, curativos y rituales en espacios rurales así como urbanos.</text>

                <text>Este es un libro colectivo que explora las dimensiones culturales de los procesos de globalización y modernización en México, a partir de la comida como uno de los ejes principales de las relaciones sociales y de la reproducción cultural. Esta obra parte de dos vertientes: 1) los múltiples y complejos usos de la comida en actividades ceremoniales, tanto en zonas indígenas como en los llamados "pueblos originarios", y 2) las prácticas alrededor de la comida y la alimentación en el contexto de los cambios que imponen las formaciones políticas económicas dominantes.
