La bella y descriptiva cerámica funeraria de estas tumbas fue exhibida, desde hace décadas, en numerosos espacios museográficos y bibliográficos, ilustrando de manera recurrente, las características de los pueblos prehispánicos de esta extensa parte de Mesoamérica. Esta obra presenta una serie de espacios funerarios existentes en el valle de Colima recuperados a través de rescates y salvamentos arqueológicos realizados entre el periodo 2000-2012, periodo en el que la zona conurbada Colima-Villa de Álvarez alcanzó altos índices de crecimiento.
